Makoto Aikido Teachings Bokken Waza by Shihan Larry Reynosa
This set of training techniques is based on the use of the bokken (wooden sword), which is one of the main weapons handed down to us by the Founder of Aikido.
Reynosa Shihan emphasizes fundamentals and then progressively introduces you to more advanced trainimng such as kumi tachi (full contact partner training). He has shared many lessons that he has continued to work on and evolve over the years employing a more practical perspective on the training.
Shihan also believes that beginners can start training with the bokken very early in their careers as one cannot get the same skills and insight from empty handed technique.
A good balance between weapons and empty handed training is always encouraged!
