This set of techniques are based on an attacker grabbing for one of your hands with the same hand, e.g. the attacker is grabbing for your right hand with his right hand.
This situation is perfect for understanding that it is never okay for you to be grabbed by the attacker unless their grabbing in under your terms. In other words, even though the attacker connects with your hand or wrist, it is you that stays in control by using their forward momentum and intention to grab, to your advantage.
Use the connection of your hands to create techniques such as, "ikkyo", "nikkyo", "sankyo", "yonkyo" or "gokyo".
