The De La Riva Guard is one of the most important guards to understand in Jiu Jitsu. It opens up countless attacks and is incredibly easy to establish. In this series, I take a highly organized approach, breaking down every aspect—starting with foundational control principles and setups, then progressing to various attacking options like the Berimbolo, Single Leg Guard, DLR X, Hybrid Spider, and Deep Lasso DLR—all across more than 100 videos. Just this past weekend, one of my students won the Swedish Nationals using the DLR X system in the finals. I have also had many people send me videos of them using it and winning in competition.
