Rafael Lovato has been be absorbed in the fundamentals of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu since he was 13, joining his father on trips from Oklahoma City to the Dallas, Texas studio of Carlos Machado.
Since those long desert car rides, Lovato Jr has driven himself to the top of his sport, winning World Jiu Jitsu Championship in 2007 (the first American to ever do so) and the No Gi Championship in 2010.
Now, Rafael Lovato trains and instructs at his own studio in his hometown of Oklahoma City.
