Siu Lim Tao is the first hand form of the Wing Chun Kung Fu system. The form teaches the correct hand and arm positions for attack and defense. Development and use of energy are the focus of Siu Lim Tao training.

"Volume 1, is one of three DVD's, featuring Grandmaster Samuel Kwok, demonstrating the art of Wing Chun, according to the principles taught by Ip Man. The first form, Siu Lim Tao, is learned by all beginning students and serves as the foundation for the more advanced postures and hand techniques in this system.
Grandmaster Kwok, gives a thorough demonstration of this first and important form, showing it from an eye-level, frontal and side view format. After he performs the Siu Lim Tao form, he follows up with an instructional break down of each section showing the application of basic techniques and how they are utilized,such as in single hand and double hand Chi Sao.
The general video format of this series, is straight forward and has no fancy scene transitions of fading in and out, nor using camera angles which obscure demonstrated material, but shows clearly how a technique is properly done and gives the appropriate descriptive dialogue in explaining why it's done that way. He not only shows the student how the technique is done correctly, but demonstrates what some teachers of the Wing Chun system do not, and that is what happens, when it's done improperly. This is a crucial pedagogical method in learning and teaching excellent kung Fu.
The Samuel Kwok, series, "Mastering Wing Chun," would be a valuable addition to any DVD collection of this unique and superb martial art. The other two accompanying, volumes of this series in "Mastering Wing Chun", are Chum Kiu and Biu Gee."
